CrochetThe first batch of dyeing is now done for @woolj13 and @yorkshireyarnfest. I do all of my dyeing on my stove and oven at home, so I can only do a batch of ten skeins at a time, otherwise cooking dinner becomes problematic!! 😂 #woolj13 #yorkshireyarnfest #indiedyer #yarnshowprep 24 April 2022 Luisa via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CcuV295ojY2/
CrochetThese little bags may look odd, but they are actually made with clothing. Usually, once clothes are beyond repair, I usually send them off for recycling. However, there is usually a good amount of perfectly good fabric there as well as worn out material. So, I decided to cut out the useable part and make them into drawstring bags for my stitch markers to go into. Then, the bits of fabric that can’t be used either go on my compost (if it is a natural material) or go for recycling. The drawstring is aran weight cotton I had hanging around. Hopefully, these will get a few more years use out of them now they have a new use. #recycled #upcycled #sustainablefashion 20 April 2022 Luisa via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CckZCTcoIW9/
CrochetStock taking for @woolj13 and @yorkshireyarnfest next month. This is just 1 box of sock weight, I have DK, Aran and chunky to do next. Then, comes the dyeing to make sure I have enough! Looking forward to seeing you next month. #indiedyer #yarnshow #yarnshowprep #woolj13 #yorkshireyarnfest 15 April 2022 Luisa via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CcX2xueoUCZ/
UncategorizedAs I am stuck indoors for 12 weeks, I decided to do something useful! Once my spinning is better, I shall be adding handspun yarn and fibre to Twisted Yarns’ shop as well as my usual yarn. Can’t wait to get some dyeing done, might see if I can do some at the weekend. 🐑 24 March 20205 February 2022 Luisa View this post on Instagram A post shared by luisa watts (@twistedyarnsherts)
UncategorizedThis is the result so far after my spinning lesson today. The fibre is a silk and merino blend and to think my first merino attempt was the blobby pink ‘yarn’! After today’s lesson, I think I’ve got the hang of it. 😁@yellingpig @knittingneedlelane 1 March 2020 Luisa View on Instagram https://ift.tt/32Khu9x
UncategorizedI made my Luciana cowl using yarn I spun on my spinning wheel. Just what is needed on a cold, windy day. 🙂 #spinningwheel #yarn #handdyedyarn 22 February 2020 Luisa View on Instagram https://ift.tt/2VcPTw3
UncategorizedAt last I have found something to replace cling film for dyeing my yarn! It is a cut to size silicone wrap which can be heated in a steamer/oven/microwave and then just washed and re-used. Using cling film was really annoying me, so am really pleased to have found this. 🤗 #ecofriendly 15 February 2020 Luisa View on Instagram https://ift.tt/2StdWFk
UncategorizedWell……today was meant to be a dye day, but as you can see I only got as far as washing the yarn! Basically, trying to squeeze in a visit from the Electrician, painting the undercoat on the skirting boards and dyeing a batch of yarn was too much to do in the 3 hours I had in the morning before picking my youngest up from nursery! So, I shall have to do some dyeing tomorrow morning before my husband and I lay the living room floor! Rotfl. 😂 #indiedyer 31 January 2020 Luisa View on Instagram https://ift.tt/2SdECIW
