As I am stuck indoors for 12 weeks, I decided to do something useful! Once my spinning is better, I shall be adding handspun yarn and fibre to Twisted Yarns’ shop as well as my usual yarn. Can’t wait to get some dyeing done, might see if I can do some at the weekend. 🐑

This is the result so far after my spinning lesson today. The fibre is a silk and merino blend and to think my first merino attempt was the blobby pink ‘yarn’! After today’s lesson, I think I’ve got the hang of it. 😁@yellingpig @knittingneedlelane

  • Merry Christmas everyone! I know that I have been rather quiet on here recently, but it has been a busy few months! Thank you to all my customers this year, it was lovely meeting some of you at yarn shows. Just to let you know, I have a boxing day sale on my Etsy shop, which runs from the 26th of December to the 2nd of January 2024. I am having a bit of a Christmas break, so all orders will be sent in the new year. Take care.
  • Last few skeins are finally dried and ready to have ball bands added, just in time for @southernwoolshow this weekend. I’ve got a few new colourways coming with me too. #southernwoolshow #handdyedyarn #yarnshowprep

  • Today I am making project bags for my crochet kits using my beautiful 1936 hand crank Singer 99k. Although she doesn’t have a backstitch function numbered tension or stitch dial (they are just knobs you adjust) zigzag stitch (stretch frabics weren’t invented yet) or zipper foot (again zips weren’t around) she makes the most beautiful stitches and I use her for all non stretch fabrics. She also has a host of amazing feet which makes French seems gathering etc a doddle! These project bags will coming with me to @summerwoolfestival in a couple of weeks. #summerwoolfestival #yarnshowprep #singer99k #sewing
